Merging 2/3CD AVI's

Many releasers ... like xdr,DDR.etc.etc.tend to split their movies on 2/3CD format ....
They do this so that it can be burnt on a regular CD ...
But if u are a person like me ...who hardly ever uses CDs in today's world ....
and would prefer to have a single movie file ... so that it can be easily burnt on a DVD .
and also for seamless viewing .... then read on

This can be easily done using a small ultra popular app

Now lets start

Below is the eg how a normal 2CD release looks like ...



Now ..Start VirtualDubMOD and go to File > Open video file...
Locate and open the First avi....



Next go to File > Append segment...



Locate and open the Second avi.



Now ..both the files are joined ..to check ...
Move the bottom slider ... all the way to the end ..



U should see that the duration and size ..resemble the combined duration+size of the original splits ...

Now this is IMP part...
Goto Video>Direct Stream Copy..
This will prevent VirtualDub from re-encoding the movie ..and will just join the files like winRAR



Thats it ...
Now u are ready to save yer work ...
Goto File>Save As..


Now Put A new name for yer Joined File ....and click save ....

U should see that VirtualDUB is joining the file ....
U would be surprised that the process takes less than 2 Min ..



Thats ..it .. u can see that the size of the final file is ..the same as the combined size of the splits ...
